welcome
Welcome to  Sanson Pediatrics!

Thank you for choosing us to provide care to your children. With all the possible options for health care, it is a privilege you chose us. As practices go, we are not the biggest or maybe even the busiest. But, ironically, we like it that way. This gives us a chance to spend more time with our patients, so that concerns can be addressed and parents and patients don't feel rushed out the door. Together we will strive to maximize your child's health and well-being.

Medically related phone calls will be triaged, meaning a triage nurse will talk with you about your concerns and give you appropriate advice. If she feels that an appointment is necessary, she will see to it that one is made. If the situation is an emergency, please call 911 first.

Appointments are times especially set aside for your child. Please come for these appointments. If you need to cancel them, please call 24 hours in advance of your appointment so that we can open up the schedule for other patients who may need to be seen. If possible, please arrive 5 to 10 minutes before your appointment in case there are forms to be filled.

New prescriptions, including antibiotics, are not routinely called into the pharmacy. An appointment must be made to address the concern. Refills on prescriptions can be requested by having the pharmacy fax a request to the office. If the request is appropriate, the refill will be authorized.

There are times I may need to go to the hospital for an emergency. Please understand that I will be gone for only as long as I need to be. If necessary, the office staff can reschedule any appointments. I apologize in advance for an inconvenience, but it is a necessary level of care I need to provide. Thank you for your understanding.

Scheduling patients is an art. I will try my best to stay on track. Likewise, please arrive on time to assure a smooth-running day. However, there will be times when I will need to spend more than the allotted minutes with a particular patient, such as an unexpectedly critically sick child in the office or a child who needs extra medical care or comfort or explanation. I ask you for your patience at these moments. I promise to give you the same consideration respective of your concerns.

Payment is accepted in the form of cash, check, and credit card. Co-Pays and other non-covered charged are to be paid on the day of service. For your convenience, we will file the insurance forms for you.

After hours, the phones are forwarded to the answering service. A pediatric-trained triage nurse will return calls and provide medical guidance. Should the nurse feel it necessary, she will call/page me with any concerns. There will be times that I will be unavailable for personal or professional reasons. At those times, I will have another physician, whom I trust, cover in my absence.

a Little about Tracey

Tracey Fender, RN, CPNP, is a Florida native who graduated with a BS in Biology from Appalachian State University in North Carolina.   She went on to receive a Registered Nurse education through a Certificate Program at Yale University and completed her Master’s of Science in Nursing with a specialty in Pediatrics from Yale University in Connecticut. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Yale New Haven Hospital in Connecticut working with pediatric patients with seizure disorders, juvenile diabetes, and cancer.

In my spare time I enjoy running, soccer, camping, and exploring the diverse landscapes of Northern Arizona with my boyfriend Lane and our golden retriever Bucky. I’m really excited to be here in Verde Valley and I look forward to interacting with families towards the goal of a healthy future.

During office hours, the front desk staff will help schedule appointments for physicals, consultations, and sick visits. We will try as best we can to accommodate same-day appointments, especially for the sick. However, there may be times that the situation is not emergent and same-day appointments are not available. In this case, an appointment will be made at the next possible opening. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
